Sandra J. Durning

Sandra Jean Durning (McCullough), age 78, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2018 at home surrounded by family. She was born in 1939 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to George and Florence McCullough. She married James Durning on February 6th, 1960. Together they raised three children, Catherine, Jack, and Ann, and also founded Durning’s Restaurant, a successful establishment in Eagan, Minnesota.

Sandy will be remembered as an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her infectious joy for life, spunky personality, and steadfast faith brought happiness and comfort to all who were lucky enough to know her. Sandy’s love of shopping, crafting, and playing card games will be fondly remembered by all.

Now at peace, she is reunited with her parents George and Florence McCullough, godmother Dolores (Earl) Snyder, brother Ross McCullough and her grandson Grant Truhler.

Sandy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jim, and their children, Catherine (Chuck), Jack, and Ann (Dean). Sandy will also be greatly missed by her six grandchildren and their families, Travis (Caitlyn), Elly (Rick), Clayton, Lewis, Samuel, and Julio.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sandy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, WI. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson WI, and one hour prior to the mass at the church. Interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the UW Initiative to End Alzheimer’s Research Fund.
