John H. Gorman

John H. Gorman, formerly of Madison, WI died peacefully on July 21, 2021 at the age of 94, surrounded by his family.

John devoted his life to loving his family, taking care of others, enjoying the great outdoors, and playing Euchre with his grandkids. He especially loved winning at Euchre and laughing until he cried when he would win an exceptionally difficult hand. John loved biking and cross country skiing, and did so well into his 80’s.

John touched many lives along his journey telling stories of his many escapades and bringing smiles to those around him.

On April 24, 1948, John married Mary Forsmo. John provided for his family by working at Holmes Tire for 11 years and then Bowman Distribution for 40 years. He was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Madison for many years. John loved volunteering alongside his daughter Barb at Special Olympic events and at Agnesian HealthCare in Fond du Lac.

John is survived by his son, Jeff (Christine) Gorman of Hudson, WI; daughter, Anne Gorman of Cuba City, WI; daughter-in-law;  Sharon Diedrich of Fond du Lac, WI; three grandchildren, Ryley Gorman, Zachary (Ashley) Gorman, and Gabrielle (Anthony) Gilbert; and dear family friend Harley Schneider. John is further survived by his sister-in-laws Dixie (Jim) Forsmo, Lois Forsmo and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John’s strong Catholic faith guided him through the many losses in his life. He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence; son, Michael; parents, James and Henrietta; daughter, Kathy; wife, Mary (Forsmo), daughter, Barb; and sister, Patricia.

A special thank you to the staff at Cambridge Senior Living and Moments Hospice who made John’s last months here happy and peaceful!
