Armida Lockwood

Armida Lockwood, age 57, of Elmwood Wisconsin, passed away suddenly on February 16, 2022. Armida was born on May 21st, 1964 to her parents Ezequiel Vega Alva and Bertha Garcia Gallegos in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, making her the fourth out of seven siblings.

During her childhood she attended elementary school at Escuela Eva Samano. Since Armida was little, she always had a great sense of humor, and was always filled with happiness and a great spirit. She was always so cheerful towards her siblings, friends, and everyone she encountered.

While in high school at Secundaria No 5, she met her first husband. The two welcomed their two children; Juan Antonio and Nestor Daniel. When the children were six and three years old, the family immigrated to St. Paul, Minnesota, where they called home for many years.

For ten years she worked at the Pioneer Press where she met Robert Lockwood, who would become her husband and life partner. They would share their love for the open road riding motorcycles, and traveling. The two also shared a passion for their love of family.

Armida was the most loving grandma to her two grandsons; Jesus and Antonio who are the sons of Juan Antonio.

She enjoyed romantic music from her era, but her favorite music was anything you could dance to. During her free time, she would spend time with her family, traveling, photography, and riding motorcycle with her husband. She was always willing to help with someone needed it, and she did it with the biggest smile on her face.

She will forever remain in the hearts of her husband Robert Lockwood; son Juan Antonio; brothers Javier, Ezequiel, and Gustavo; her sisters Linda, Alba, and Rosaura as well as many nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Armida’s life will be on Sunday, February 27 2022, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin, Wisconsin. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior.
