William “Bill” Allds

William “Bill” Allds, age 93 of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away March 11, 2022 at home. He was the only child of Anna and Jack Allds of Hudson, Wisconsin. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Wisconsin State University at River Falls, he went to California to begin a teaching career of 35 years in the Manhattan Beach School District. While teaching, he managed to work for 15 years in the Manhattan Beach Recreation Department and received a Master’s degree from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.

He was very proud of his Danish heritage (mother’s side) and being eligible for the Sons of the American Revolution (father’s side). He discovered that his family had come into the New Hampshire Colony in the 1730’s. During his retirement years, he and his wife, Gail, enjoyed many cruises and traveling to many of the states and countries of the world. He was very happy to do volunteer work at the food banks, the hospital, and the thrift stores.

He will be greatly missed by his family: Gail, his wife of 60 years; his son, John (Dia) of Mesa, AZ; his daughter, Mary Ann, and grandsons, Declan and Cortez, of San Francisco, CA; nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is very appreciative of the wonderful care given by Banner Health Hospice during the past four months. Any donations made in his honor should be given to Open Arms, P.O. Box 2198 Litchfield Park, AZ, or St. Vincent de Paul Society of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Sun City West. A Memorial Service and Burial is planned for late April in Hudson, Wisconsin.
