Stanley C. Miller

Stanley Carlton Miller, age 90 of Roberts WI, and formerly of Afton MN, went to his Heavenly home on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Comforts f Home in Baldwin WI. Stanley was born June 7, 1920 to Fred and Cora (Zinschlag) at Cottage Grove MN. He was baptized at the Salem Lutheran Church in Woodbury MN on July 4, 1920. Stanley was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church on May 28, 1942. Stanley was united in marriage to Viola (nee Heuer) on May 19, 1945.

Stanley was a farmer at heart. He loved his cows, and could tell by looking at their faces if they were sick. Stanley loved working the soil and watching his crops grow. In later years, as his health permitted, Stanley could still be found driving the tractor around the farm. Though Stanley was diagnosed with COPD in March of 2000, it could not keep him from doing what he loved to do, and even as his health declined, there was always a place in his heart for the love he had for farming. Stanley was also quite proud of his grandsons and his great-grandchildren, and cherished the time spent with them. Stanley spent the last three months of his life in a skilled nursing facility, and then in assisted living. He went to his Heavenly home on Monday, January 31, 2011 while at the Comforts f Home in Baldwin WI.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Viola; his son Wayne (Kathy) Miller; grandsons Richard Miller, and Brian (Quintina) Miller; great-grandchildren Brianna, Brandon, and Colin; brother Wallace (DeLois) Miller; sister Shirley Rohr; Godchild Barbara Fritsche; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Charlotte Miller, and Lucille Zimmerman; brothers-in-law Constantine Zimmerman, and Donald Rohr.
