Rosemary Richie

Rosemary Eleanor Richie, age 92 of Minnetonka, MN, died peacefully October 31st at her home with her sons Jon and Pat by her side. Rosemary was born on January 15, 1928 in Winsted, Minnesota; the daughter of John and Mabel (Bullis) Keating. She was raised in Winsted attending Holy Trinity Parochial School prior to attending College of St. Benedicts in Collegeville. On December 26, 1955, she was united in marriage to Patrick Anthony Richie in Minneapolis. Pat owned and operated a razor shop and later a card and gift shop “The Swinging Pendulum” in St. Paul with Rosemary’s support. In 1968 she lost her youngest son Bobby at 71/2 yrs to a long time heart condition and with whom she is now joyfully reunited. Together Rosemary and Pat owned and operated North Star Service and Supply Co. dealing in pneumatic tools, which Rosemary ran day to day on site from 1972 to 1982. Rosemary raised her family with love, respect, and was faith based. She cherished her sons and was always on the go with Pat. Rosemary was also a great person to take a road-trip with along her son Jon and his Golden Retriever Hugo. From they’re many trips to South Dakota and Wisconsin to going cross-country to southern Texas. She had a keen dry sense of humor and was a terrific cook and loved baking. Her incredible birthday blueberry pies were treasured by those lucky enough to get them. Later in life, a quiet day included watching wildlife, deer, ducks, rabbits and many different species of birds along with her favorite tv shows, The Price is Right, Gunsmoke, American Picker’s, Antiques Roadshow, and of course Judge Judy as well as many home improvement shows. If it was on a weekend in the summer pink lemonade and Kentucky Fried Chicken were on the menu. She was a great one from a great generation who knew how to have fun, raise a family and run a business at the same time.

Rosemary is survived by her sons Jon Richie, Pat Richie, daughter in law Nico Richie and grandchildren Cristina, Matteo and Angelica Richie.
