Chad Standaert, age 36 of New Richmond WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and caregivers on October 9, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with MS. Chad was born August 31, 1979 in Menomonie, WI, the son of David Slama and Jane Standaert. He attended school in New Richmond and St. Croix Central. After school, Chad worked as a landscaper with Green Touch Lawn Care and as a detailer with Johnson Motors, until his illness prevented him from continuing to do so. His life was blessed with two beautiful children, Janelle and Dawson.

Chad was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan, who loved cheering on his team. He enjoyed listening to music and watching Nascar racing. Most important to Chad, was his children, who meant the world to him.

Chad will remain in the hearts of his children, Janelle and Dawson; father, David (Shari) Slama; stepfather, Don (Jessie) Bos; brother, Derrick Bos and Brian Bos; sisters, Christine (Dan) Bos, Trisha (Chad) Carlson and Stacia Slama; nieces and nephews. Chad will be dearly missed by his family, caregivers, friends, and best buddy, Vernon Conrad. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Standaert Bos.

Funeral Services will take place at 3:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin. Visitation will follow the services from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 13 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood City.
