Barry Lee Anderson, age 79, resident of Hudson, WI, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, surrounded by family. 

Barry was born on October 29, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, to parents, Blaine and Marion (Vollum) Anderson.  He attended Bound Brook High School in New Jersey and graduated from college at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Barry proudly served two years in the Navy. He married his wife, Joan, on December 18, 1976. He and Joan had two daughters. Barry went on to earn his MBA from St. Thomas University. He enjoyed a long career as an industrial engineer, working for 3M for thirty years.

Barry’s family was very important to him. He loved spending holidays, special events, and everyday moments with Joan, their daughters and spouses, and his grandchildren. Barry also enjoyed close relationships with his cousins, friends and other family members.  Barry loved to read and learn about history. He participated in many history discussion groups, and was a lifelong learner.  He was active in his church communities, serving at times on church council and youth committees.

Barry will remain in the hearts of his wife, Joan; children, Dana (Jason) Tran, and Betsy (Charlie) Anderson; grandchildren, Gavin, Brynn, and Annika Tran, and Thorin, Ingrid, Kjersten, and Leif Anderson; sister, Barbara Anderson; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Bruce Anderson.

A memorial service for Barry will take 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Bethel Lutheran Church – Highlands Campus, Hudson, WI.  Visitation will be one hour prior.  Burial to follow at Bethel Columbarium.  Memorials can be directed to Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson, WI, or the Minnesota Historical Society
