Arthur Ernest Coulter, age 65 of Hudson, passed away December 29, 2013 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by his loving family. Arthur was born February 27, 1948 in Chicago, IL, the son of Henry and Donna (Mayer) Coulter. He graduated from Hudson High School, with the class of 1966. Art then went on to further his education at the University of River Falls. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam war. Art worked as a commercial carpenter for Union Local 851, and retired from Minuti-Ogle in 2002.

Art was a true outdoorsman enjoying the beauty of the outdoors by hunting, fishing and camping. As a young man, Art was a tremendous athlete and later enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews in their many varied activities. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. He was a prankster with a great sense of humor and was always telling stories. Art cherished his time with his nieces and nephews and had a very generous, loving heart.

Art will remain in the hearts of his mother, Donna; siblings: Debby (Stan) Abrahamson, Candy (Jim) Miller, Brad (Maren) Coulter, Gene (Amy) Coulter and Fred (Amy) Coulter; many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; and aunt, Dorothy “Sis” Mayer.

A visitation will take place 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, January 3, 2014 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral Services will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, with Pastor Larry Szyman officiating. Private interment will take place at Willow River Cemetery of Hudson. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be Art’s nieces and nephews: Craig Abrahamson, Nate, Matt and Cassie Miller, Sondra, Chelsea, Allie and Gina Coulter.
