Ardith Hoolihan

Ardith Ann Hoolihan, age 72 of North Hudson and formerly of Roberts, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Boutwell’s Landing in Oak Park Heights, MN. Ardith was born on May 28, 1938 in Knapp, Wisconsin; the daughter of Arthur and Lelia (Butler) Klingman. She was raised near Knapp/Boyceville where she graduated from Boyceville High School. On June 6, 1958, she was united in marriage to Philip Thomas Hoolihan in Amarillo, Texas. This union would be further blessed with four children.  For twenty years, she worked for the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. She loved working with the elderly and served as their activity director. She retired earlier than she would have hoped as health problems entered her life. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed taking them shopping, entertaining dinners, or simply spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed tending to her gardens or yard and traveling to such places as Hawaii and Jamaica. Furthermore, she took pleasure from her trips to the casinos as a one armed bandit.

She will be fondly be remembered by her children Belinda (Donald) Dalton, Craig (Lenore) Hoolihan, Becky (Tim) Hawkins, Chris (Christy) Hoolihan, ten grandchildren Jacob, Zachary, Lydia, Joshua, Taylor, Haley, Hope, Heidi, Hunter, Holly, siblings Evelyn Theisen, John Klingman, David (Carla) Klingman, Donald (Sue) Klingman, and sister-in-law Eunice Benson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip, siblings Bill, Richard (Mavis), Jesse (Ed), Shirley (Pat), Mildred (Nathan), sisters/brothers-in-law Clarence Theisen, Rose Klingman, and Jim Hoolihan.  

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, March 8th at 11AM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson. Burial will be in the Willow River Cemetery in Hudson with her family as casketbearers. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 until 7PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning. Memorials are preferred.
