Bette Iverson

Bette June (Johnson) Iverson, 83, of Hudson passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She was born the youngest of 10 children on July 8, 1927, near Emerald, WI, to John and Gina (Haugeland) Johnson.  She moved to Hudson as an infant and lived there the rest of her life.  She attended Hudson public schools and graduated with the class of 1946. She married Gerald Iverson on June 12, 1954, at Bethel Lutheran Church. Throughout the years she worked for the telephone company, United Refrigeration, Erickson’s supermarket, and West Publishing, from where she retired in 1990.  She enjoyed the opportunity to yell BINGO on occasion at Treasure Island or more recently at the Christian Community Home. She loved her family, watching her grandchildren grow up or having a cup of coffee with family/friends; especially her sisters.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents; three brothers, Gordon, Maynard, and Curtis; four sisters, Josephine Hayes, Florence Kees, Violet Neubarth, and Dolores Vogt. She is survived by her son Jeff (Jean) Iverson and daughter Jana (Scott) Neuman; six grandchildren, Emma, Trent, Blake and Joel Iverson and Jeff and Jake Neuman; two sisters, Marian Barker and Mavis Siegel; and further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be 11AM Monday April 25th at Bethel Lutheran Church (downtown) with Pastor Bob Bipes officiating. Burial will be in the Willow River Cemetery with casketbearers being Trent Iverson, Blake Iverson, Jeff Neuman, Jake Neuman, Rob Neubarth, and Brian Siegel. Visitation will be Easter Sunday from 6 until 8PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and one hour prior to the service at Bethel on Monday morning. Memorials are preferred.
