Alice TeGrootenhuis

Alice Jean TeGrootenhuis age 85 of Baldwin died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at United Hospital in St. Paul. Alice was born on March 19, 1928 in Roberts, Wisconsin; the daughter of Howard and Anna (Anderson) Greenfield. She was raised in Roberts, where she attended school. On June 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Cornelius Henry “Neil” TeGrootenhuis in Stillwater. Alice worked many years as a cook for Lunde’s Restaurant and later for McMillan Electric in their factory. Alice enjoyed the fellowship of others; whether visiting with others at local church dinners or craft fairs. She was a gifted artist who painted wildlife scenes or rocks or turkey feathers. She also enjoyed tending to her houseplants or reading the newspaper to keep up on current events.

Alice is survived by her son Ricky (Fiancee Natalie Glick) TeGrootenhuis of Baldwin, grandchildren Cassandra TeGrootenhuis, Aaron TeGrootenhuis, Neil TeGrootenhuis, Naomi (Jeff) Appel, great grandchildren Marissa, Makayla, Kullan, Kadin, Brooklyn, Paige, great great grandchild Ella Sondra, and her brother Richard “Dick” (Elaine) Greenfield of Roberts. She is preceded in death by her husband and son Gary Gene TeGrootenhuis.

Graveside service for Alice will be 2PM, Friday July 19 at the Baldwin Cemetery. A time to gather to remember Alice will be Friday, July 19 from 3PM to 5PM at Pheasant Hills Golf Course in rural Hammond. Memorials are preferred to the family. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin.
