Myron ‘Mike’ Gayle Moen

Myron  “Mike” Gayle Moen of New Richmond, WI was born in St Paul, MN December 16, 1931. From age 12 he lived in Hammond, WI with grandparents, Rasmus and Jenny Moen. He attended Hammond High School where he was prom king and voted best personality in his class in 1949. Mike joined the United States Marine Corps in 1950 and was stationed in Guam. Later he attended UWRF and majored in Communications and Journalism.  He married Kathleen Peskar and they had a daughter Barbara Ann in 1959.  Mike worked as a TV News director in Oregon in the 1960s.  He worked for Century 21 as a Realtor in the early 1990s before he obtained his Master’s Degree, becoming licensed as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor.  Mike was recently a Clinical Supervisor in training at Kinnic Falls ADA Services, in River Falls, where he was employed for 16 years.

Mike is preceded in death by; parents, Myron Moen and Dolores (Schafer) Moen; uncle, Jupe Moen; niece, Jenny Tossey and grandson, Brody Wittwer. He is survived by; sisters, Dorothy Ressigieu of Mill Valley CA and Patti Doncits of Blaine MN; daughter, Barbara Ombui of Roseville MN; grandsons, Jason (Michelle) Wittwer, Jamie Wittwer and Nick (Jessica) Shillingford, and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Delanie. Mike’s family wishes to thank the staff at American Heritage Care Center in Hammond WI and Adoray Hospice as well as all the kind friends who were there for him. 

A Celebration of Life for Mike will be Saturday, March 16 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson from 12:00 noon to 3:00PM.  Full military honors will be provided by the Hudson VFW and American Legion Posts at the conclusion of the gathering. Memorials are preferred.  Memorials preferred to the Kinnic Falls Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center.
