Glen Stensvold

Glen Stensvold age 87 of New Richmond died Thursday November 28th 2013 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Glen was born on November 14, 1926 in Clear Lake, Wisconsin; the son of Christian and Hanne (Danielson) Stensvold. He was raised in Clear Lake where he attended school. As a young man, he enlisted in the armed forces where he proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He would return to school at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls where he received his bachelors degree in education/psychology. He would be united in marriage to Patricia Ann “Patty” Perucca in Hudson. Glen was a jack of all trades. He began as a draftsman for Honeywell and later served as the sexton for the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. He also enjoyed his time spent instructing as a sub teacher in New Richmond and working for Beebe’s in New Richmond.

He enjoyed mystery thrillers; whether a good book or watching the Masterpiece Theater on PBS. He enjoyed putzing on his computer and working with Excel spreadsheets as well as woodworking and building things.

Glen is survived by his wife Patty, son Eric Stensvold, daughter Sandy Steffenson, siblings Lola Fouks, Mary Jane (Bob) Hanson, former wife Marion Moe, as well as other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers Norval (Lily), Darlo (Cecelia), and Orlando.

Mass of Christian Burial for Glen Stensvold will be 11AM Tuesday, December 3rd at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond. Full military honors will be provided by the New Richmond VFW. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at church Tuesday morning. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Homes.
