Christopher John Hogberg

Christopher John Hogberg, age 60, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Somerset, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on August 22, 2022, with loved ones by his side. Chris was born on September 8, 1961, to Thomas Carl and Karen Jean (Glasrud) Hogberg in Stillwater. He grew up in Somerset and graduated from Somerset High School with the class of 1980.

On October 27, 1984, he was united in marriage to Mary Murray. Though their marriage would dissolve, it was blessed with two boys, Christopher Robert and Cory John. Chris was accepted to Dunwoody Institute and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Construction. As a result of his degree, Chris obtained a position at Mitchell Hanson Electric in Hudson, which later became NEO Electric; and worked to become a Journeyman Electrician. He loved his job and took pride in his work for over 36 years. In the years past, he’d often bring his best 4-legged friend, Eddie, whom he cherished, to work with him, and Eddie always rode shotgun.

Chris committed his life to the people he loved; he was helpful and had a kind soul. He would often take his son’s camping on the St. Croix River and fishing, even an occasional trip to Canada. He adored the outdoors, camping, deer hunting, fishing all year round, and mowing his lawn. If you got the opportunity to mow his lawn, you had to make sure the lines were straight, or you were not allowed to mow it again. He appreciated hanging out with his friends, watching the Packers play, drinking beer, and boating. He enjoyed running to the Kozy Korner and grabbing a breakfast pizza Supreme and a few beers with friends. Chris was a funny, simple person who liked to have fun, and fun was a must. Chris will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Chris is survived by his love of 24 years, Dale Ann Swanson; his sons, Christopher (Emily Bonse) Hogberg and Cory Hogberg; brother, Bruce (Nancy Lescarbeau) Hogberg; sister, Tamara Sneen; his family dog, Roxy; and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Karen; brother-in-law, Kenny Sneen; and his Australian Shepard, Eddie.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on August 30, 2022 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th Street, Hudson, WI. Following the gathering at the funeral home, the Celebration of Chris’ Life will continue at the Village Inn in North Hudson, with food and drinks provided.
