Julie Ann Lyman, 72, of Elk Mound, Wisconsin, died Friday, October 21, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones at the Parkview Manor in Woodville, Wisconsin, after a brief but brave battle with cancer.

Julie was born on April 13, 1950, to Ashley “Red” and Mary (Clark) Lyman in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was the youngest of two daughters and looked up to her older sister Marcia. Being the little sister pushed Julie to do things her own way and make her own decisions, which she did to the very end, living life to the fullest. Julie enjoyed learning, she was curious and inquisitive about everything from other religions and cultures to trying different foods and exploring while the family traveled with her father “Red” who worked for the Union Pacific Railroad.

There are many ways to describe Julie, one of them is she had a determined personality with a strong head. Julie delighted in making people laugh, she was selfless, which led her to take care of others as a nursing assistant. Life was not about her but all the other people she loved. You might not have even noticed her as she was a shy person, but you could spot her by the hats she wore and the bling she had on. Julie was protective of her children, Matthew and Rick. Julie was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved to have a good time. Julie was an avid Jeopardy watcher and had an impressive knowledge of movies/movie stars, loved William Shatner and the show Supernatural.  She adored and was entertained by animals, cats, dogs, and birds and was insistent that they wouldn’t go away hungry.

Julie is survived by her children: Richard Tallman (Rebecca) and Mathew Lyman (Linda); grandchildren: Adam Tallman, Jordan (Brandon) Burns, Katelynn (Brandon Anderson) Lyman, Brooke (Tobias Jamarillo) Lyman, and Joey Lyman; great-grandchildren: Hayden Burns, Holly Burns, Evelyn Tallman, and Madilynn Anderson; Sister, Marcia “Red” Lawson; Niece, Michelle (Chris) Harp. She preceded in death by her parents, Ashley “Red” and Mary (Clark) Lyman, and her nephew, Micah Lawson.

Any monetary donations will be given by the family to the Dunn County Humane Society and Veterans Community Project St. Louis.

The family will be hosting a party in Julie’s memory on Monday, 14 November from 4-8pm at the Elks Lodge #402 3411 Stein Blvd, Eau Claire, WI 54701.  Everyone is welcome, if you would like to attend, please send an e-mail to moundberryfarm@yahoo.com for food count.
