David B. Wrase

David Barry Wrase, age 68 of Forrest Lake, Minnesota, and formerly of River Falls, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 21, 2024 at his residence of natural causes. David was born on August 15, 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota; the son of Carroll and Pearl (Frazier) Wrase. David was raised in attending Greenwood Elementary School prior to graduating from River Falls High School.

Following high school, he enlisted in the Armed Forces where he proudly served in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he lived in Forrest Lake for many years working at various jobs; including his longest tenure as a machine operator at a plastic molding company in Forrest Lake.

David was a private person for the most part who loved his family. David, like many of us, had his struggles in life; alcohol being one of them. David was, and should have been, proud of his journey through the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. He lived by the Serenity Prayer and as a result, was alcohol free for over fifteen years. Over the years, he enjoyed the tranquility of watching a bobber for hours with the hope it might entice a passing panfish or playing cards for hours on end with those he loved and supported him.

David is preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael who died in 2015. He is survived by his sister Kathy (Don) Vorwald, and niece and nephews Rick (Stacy) Vorwald, Lisa (Ray) Conrad; as well as other friends and relatives.

Graveside service honoring David will be 11:00AM, Saturday, October 19th at the Kinnickinnic Cemetery, in rural Roberts, WI. Full military honors for David’s service in the Army will be provided by the River Falls American Legion Post. Memorials are appreciated and may be forwarded to the funeral home.

Cremation and memorial services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of River Falls, www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com, 715-425-5644.
