Robert William Niznik, age 37 of North Hudson died suddenly while driving truck in the Twin Cities. Robert was born on February 17, 1982, in Minneapolis; the son of Robert Gehrke and Mary Niznik. He was raised in North Minneapolis where he attended school prior to graduating from Mounds View. On October 7, 2017, he was united in marriage to his best friend Katie Ryan. Together, they have made North Hudson their home. Most recently, Robert has been driving truck for Valdes Lawn Care and Landscape in Lake Elmo, which he was very proud to work for.
Robert loved the outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing for anything that would bite. He was so excited this year as he caught his first musky! He took great pleasure in taking ATV rides on the trails, target practice in the woods with his favorite guns, and looking forward to deer hunting in the fall with his father-in-law. He loved the challenge of a grill-off, as he made a killer BBQ sauce and could smoke anything to perfection. Earlier in life, he was always up for a wild ride on his Harley.
Robert will remain in the hearts of his wife Katie; his mother Mary Niznik; sister Julia Gehrke and her son Thomas; mother-in-law Pamela and father-in-law James Dunwald; brothers/sisters-in-law Scott (Tammy) Dati, Sharon (Jason) Hamburg, Matt Ryan; nieces and nephews Morgan, Max, Bryanna, Dean, Avery, and Cole.
