Joseph Edward Little

JOSEPH EDWARD LITTLE was called home to his Father in Heaven Saturday, February 20, 2016. He was 93. Joseph was born 12 Jan 1923 in Boone County, MO, to Wilbert Thomas Little and Wilmoth Gertrude Hawkins. He is survived by his only child, a daughter, Christie Odahlen and husband, Dennis Odahlen, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Gertrude Christie Little, sisters, Irene Ellis and Dorothy Bowers, and his brother, Howard Little.
Joseph was a decorated WW11 veteran and 20-year US Navy Hopsital Corpsman. He was a Mason, a Shriner, a Lion’s Club Melvin Fellows recipient, and an honorary member of the Methodist Women’s organization.
Joseph was Secretary to the Surgeon General of the Navy from 1956-1958, in Washington, DC.
Joseph enjoyed gardening, BBQing, embroidery, his cat, banana coconut cream pie, vodka, cigarettes, the Weather Channel, and good friends. He especially loved Hawaii, where he was stationed multiple times during his Navy service. So, to you, Big Kahuna, Aloha nui loa, until we meet again….

Masonic and Military graveside services for Joe will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ellsworth, WI.
