John William Lubich

John William Lubich, 67, of River Falls, WI died unexpectedly on July 9, 2016 at his home working in his yard. John was a wonderful man who greatly loved his family and friends.
John was born on May 5, 1949 in River Falls, WI to Roman and Ursula (Jansa) Lubich. John graduated from River Falls High School in 1967 and attended vocational school in Eau Claire for Ag Business. John met Sandy Schulte in 1967 on his 18th birthday and they have been inseparable ever since. John married his sweetheart on March 6, 1970 and had three wonderful children together.

John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandy, and his children: Chad (Charity), Craig (Amy), and Jody Frappier, all of Prescott; and grandchildren Taylor Samuelson, Alex, Aaron, Connor, and Carter Lubich, and Riley and Ried Frappier. He is also survived by his mother, Ursula Lubich of River Falls, siblings Terry (Kris), Mike (Grace), Sharon (David) Andress, Karen (Ron) Johnson, Pete (Debbie), Tom (Rhea), Melanie (Barry) Heltne, Todd (Jennie Sue), and sister-in-law Toni Lubich. He will be remembered by many more aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, Roman and brother, David.

John loved his John Deere tractors, making a career of working at several John Deere implements, working for many years at Farm Oyl and lastly working at Value Implement. He met many wonderful people across the area and people would come in just to talk and bend his ear. He helped many generations of families and always remembered a name and face. John was involved with the St. Croix Valley Collectors Association and could be found greeting people at the Threshing Bee each year.

John was a wonderful man, loving husband, father, and grandfather. John loved his family and always gave updates on his family and grandchildren. John could always be found in the bleachers for sporting events or in the audience for concerts, piano recitals, and events for his children and grandchildren. He loved fishing, camping, working in the yard, and feeding the birds. He enjoyed his tractor collection – big ones and toy ones and loved fixing up the old sandbox toys. John always took the time to get to know people, to help out a friend, and be there for his family. His kindness will never be forgotten.

Services for John will be at 10:00 am Friday, July 15 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, River Falls, WI. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 14 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
