Mary Ellen Hauschildt

Mary Ellen Hauschildt, age 60, of River Falls WI, passed away April 14, 2017, surrounded by family at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Mary was born to Ronald and Donna Pace on July 30, 1956 in River Falls and attended River Falls High School. Mary married Richard Hovde in 1972. The couple had two children, Phillip and Angela. They lived in Alaska, Kentucky, Germany, South Dakota and Montana. They divorced in 1991 and Mary returned to River Falls.

Mary met and married John Hauschildt in 1995. They resided in River Falls and the Madison, WI area until John’s retirement in 2007 at which time they moved to their current home in River Falls.

Family was always the center of Mary’s life. She loved camping, traveling, baking and spending time with John, Lexi the wonder dog, and her children, grandchildren and brothers and sisters. Mary was a very giving person, always willing to provide help and support to her many friends and family. Mary lived for her grandchildren; her happiest moments were when she was with them in the kitchen teaching them the finer points of baking and eating warm cookies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Donna Pace; brother, James Pace; brothers-in-law, Dani Hauschildt and Andrew Goodwin; sister-in-law, Janie Pace; nephew, Karl Lee Schotter.

She is survived by her husband, John; her children, Phillip Hovde of Big Sky, MT and Angela Hovde of Bozeman, MT; grandchildren, Tyrrell Getzie, Aaron Clair, Ellie Clair, Megan Hovde, Sierra Hovde, Naomi Pinet. She is also survived by sisters, Linda (Jay) Wollan, Debbie (Karl) Schotter, Carol (Jerry) Williams; brother, Richard (Nancy) Pace all of River Falls; also, sisters-in-law, Diane Horschak of Murphy, TX, Kristen Hauschildt-Ashley of St. Louis, MO, Kathrine Hauschildt-Goodwin of Kent, England; brother-in-law, Duanne Hauschildt, Jr. of Brownsville, TX; many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Weitkamp Park in Hudson, WI. ​

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation.

Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Service of River Falls, WI is assisting the family.
