James Leo Huppert

James Leo Huppert, age 81, of Prescott, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was born February 12, 1937 in Oak Grove Township, WI to Felix and Mildred (Holmquist) Huppert. On May 17, 1958 he was united in marriage to Charlotte Wentz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Big River). Jim had a variety of jobs as a farmer, carpenter, SB Foot Company and a foreman at Jakes Seed company.

Jim was a devoted family man and enjoyed attending his children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities. He was a caring man who would always help out his family or friends whenever help was needed. Jim always had a joke to tell or a prank to pull and was known by family and friends as the “JOKESTER”. He had many interests during his lifetime which included, reading, woodworking, dancing, fishing, traveling and camping.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Mildred Huppert; grandson, Phillip Huppert; brother, Milton Huppert; brother-in-law, Curt Hoikka.

James is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Charlotte Huppert; his children, Cynthia (James) Anderson, Loni (Jerome) Johnson, Randall (Annette) Huppert, Pamela (Douglas) Bonte; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Vivienne Hoikka; brothers, Ernest (Colleen) Huppert, Roman (Marcia) Huppert; sister-in-law, Catherine Huppert; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Friday, April 20th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Big River), W10137 570th Ave, River Falls, WI. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, April 19th also at St. Mary’s and 1 hour prior to Mass on Friday. 715-273-4421 www.oconnellfuneralservices.com
