Gordon Arnold Westfield, age 78 of Ellsworth, passed away July 21, 2018 at the Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls. Gordon was born February 27, 1940 in Red Wing, MN to Arnold and Marian (Monson) Westfield. He graduated from Ellsworth High School, the Class of 1958. Gordon was united in marriage to Sandra J. Kinneman on August 27, 1960 at English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Joel, Todd and Chad. 

Gordon enjoyed spending time with his family, working in the yard, gardening and watching wildlife. He was an active member of Bethel Covenant Church, where he helped with bible study and other group activities. Previously, Gordon farmed and was on the Ellsworth Creamery Board for many years. He also drove truck for the Tile Shop, and after retirement worked with the Ellsworth Schools where he loved being around the children. Gordon also enjoyed the company of the family cats. Gordon’s big smile and tender heart will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Gordon will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 58 years, Sandy; his sons, Joel Westfield and Chad (Deb) Westfield; daughter-in-law, Vicky Westfield; grandchildren: Jessica, Julia, Chase, Cole, Brock, and Allyson; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Liz) Westfield and Lee (Linda) Westfield; brother-in-law, Dean Kinneman; sister-in-law, Yvonne Marklevits; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Todd; brother, Donald; and his parents.

A Visitation will take place 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant St., Ellsworth, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Bethel Covenant Church, W8403 County Rd KK, Ellsworth, with Pastor Todd Spieker officiating. Interment will take place at Zion Covenant Cemetery in Ellsworth.
