James “Jim” Alan Stewart, age 62, of River Falls, WI passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was born on April 21, 1956 in Hudson, WI to Dr. Alan and Jean (Norlander) Stewart. He grew up in River Falls and graduated from River Falls High School in 1974. Jim was a police officer in Hudson, WI for many years after which he worked a number of years as security at The St. Paul Hotel.
Jim was an avid sports person. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and softball. He was also an excellent water skier. He followed the Badgers and the Brewers, and was a huge Packers fan. Jim was an animal lover all his life, especially caring for dogs.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Stewart and an infant brother, John.
Jim is survived by his father, Dr. Alan Stewart; sister, Jodie (Lowell) Falde; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; he is also survived by his beloved canine companion, Manny.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00-7:00pm, Monday, Sept. 17th at O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 225 South Third St. in River Falls. A memorial service for Jim will be held at 7:00pm, also at the funeral home. Private family interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls, WI.
