Donald Fredrick Filkins, age 81, of Prescott, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 after a brief illness at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was born July 3, 1937 in River Falls, WI to Fredrick and Viola (Hamman) Filkins. On March 5, 1977 he was united in marriage to LuAnn Rose Hildebrandt. Don was a farmer all his life.

Donald enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling. He enjoyed going for road trips, it could be for long trips or just driving around the countryside looking at the crops. He was also a big fan of NASCAR, liked going to tractor pulls and going out to eat at area fish fries. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Viola Filkins; sister-in-law, Mickey Hildebrandt; brothers-in-law, Ken Hildebrandt, John Kemmerer.

Donald will be dearly missed by his wife of 41 years, LuAnn Filkins; his children, Sherry (Mark) Randolph, Julie (Danny) Belden, Dennis (Jill) Filkins, Roxie (Jim) Schommer, Doug Filkins, Connie (Marc) Smith; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his brother, Dave (Diane) Filkins; sisters-in-law, Teri Hildebrandt, JeanAnn Kemmerer; brother-in-law; Jim Hildebrandt; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Donald will be 11:30am Monday, October 15th at Prescott United Church of Christ, 206 Locust Street, Prescott, WI. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm on Sunday, October 14th also at Prescott UCC and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery, Prescott, WI.
