Lawrence McCormack

Lawrence “Larry” David McCormack, age 75 of Hager City, passed away peacefully at his home on April 10, 2019. Larry was born January 28, 1944 in Hinckley, MN to Lyle and Fern (Breckheimer) McCormack. He graduated from Rosemount High School, the Class of 1962. Larry furthered his education, obtaining of Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 – 1967. Larry was united in marriage to Sharon “Sheri” Theresa Sylvester on August 13, 1968 in Cambridge, MN. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Christy and Anne. Larry farmed for most of his lifetime, retiring in 1993. He then worked at Treasure Island Casino, Ellsworth Auto, and Walmart.
Larry loved the outdoors, and took great pride in maintaining his farm. In his quiet time, he enjoyed the challenge of jigsaw puzzles and reading. Larry and Sheri were fortunate to share many travels together, with one of their favorites being the Jersey Shore, which they visited eight out of the last ten years. He was proud of his family, and cherished his time with his wife, daughters, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Larry will remain in the hearts of his wife, Sheri; daughters, Christy (Mike) Vodinelich, and Anne (Jeff) Breeden; 6 grandchildren, Alex Vodinelich (Kendra Voracek), Dee Vodinelich (Tyler Johnson), Nick Vodinelich, Jordan Vodinelich, Johnathan Breeden, and Jacob Breeden; 2 great-grandchildren, Skyler Johnson and Braylyn Vodinelich; sisters, Judy (Dick) Schlosser, Joan (Chuck) Foley, and Barb (Jim) Billmeier; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two stillborn daughters.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 12:00 Noon Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 231 Woodworth St., Ellsworth, with Fr. Eric Dadson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the start of Mass at church. Interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Ellsworth, WI. (715)273-4421 www.oconnellfuneralservices.com
