She graduated from Baldwin High School, the Class of 1956. After high school, Georgia furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, obtaining a degree in secondary education. Georgia was united in marriage to Richard Kelm on August 24, 1963 in Baldwin. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Shelly and Jason. Georgia was a Physical Education teacher with the River Falls High School, serving the District for 8 years. She then worked as a manager at the Ben Franklin store in River Falls for many years.

Georgia was outgoing and remained active after her retirement years. She enjoyed working at the poles during the elections, and at the Pierce County Fair as Superintendent of the Home Economics Department. Most important to Georgia was her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, making sacrifices for them and always supporting them as their number one fan. Most of all, she loved going to each grandchild’s sporting events. She could always be heard cheering loudly from the sidelines! Her remaining free time was spent making crafts of all types. She also loved tending her flowers and watching birds at her feeders. Georgia’s family will miss their sweet conversations while sharing ice cream treats, her honest heart, and her welcoming smile and little wave, that brought so many lasting and funny memories.

Georgia will remain in the hearts of her loving husband, Dick, of nearly 56 years; her son, Jason (Sue) Kelm of Hudson; her beloved grandchildren, Mikayla Hansen, Tanner Kelm, and Gaby Kelm; sister, Ruth Bosman of River Falls; son-in-law, Rick Hansen; other relatives and dear friends.
