Rose M. Schaar

Rose Marie “Rosie” Schaar, age 77 of Ellsworth WI, died on December 10, 2019 at United Hospital in St Paul. Rosie was born February 12, 1942 in Red Wing MN to parents Axel and Gladys (Anderson) Danielson. Rosie graduated from Red Wing High School with the Class of 1960. On September 23, 1967, Rose was united in marriage to Wayne Schaar. Their union in marriage was blessed with two daughters, two granddaughters, and over 52 years of love and devotion.

Rosie retired from the Red Wing Shoe Co. in 2003 after 43 years of employment. Not long after that time, Rosie became a grandma. She loved being a grandma! She cherished every day during the next seven years, helping provide daycare and bringing daily doses of love and joy to the lives of her granddaughters before they were old enough to go off to school. Education was important to Rosie, and something she instilled in her daughters early on. If something was important to her girls in their pursuit of education, it was important to Rosie as well.

Throughout her life, Rosie always had concern for others, and was there to help someone when they needed it. Rosie had love in her heart for animals, and would take in any of God’s creatures that needed special care in a loving home. Rosie also enjoyed camping and horseback riding, and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Much of her life was devoted to her faith and her church, where she was involved with Sunday School and youth group. Rosie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rosie is survived by her husband, Wayne; her daughters, Lori (Andrew) Eghobamien, and Teri (Jeremy) Odegard; her granddaughters, Emily Odegard and Megan Odegard; sisters-in-law, Alana (Dave) Hauschildt, and Pamela (Gordon) Knutson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, December 14th at the Bethel Covenant Church, W8405 County Road KK in rural Ellsworth, WI, with Rev. Todd Spieker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, December 13th at the church, and also one hour prior to services at the church.
