Wanda Meacham

Wanda Marie Meacham, age 94, of Colfax, WI, formerly of Ellsworth, WI, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2020 at the Ridge Crest Manor at the Colfax Health and Rehab Center. Wanda was born May 28, 1925 in El Paso Township to Elmer and Lillian (Menke) Osterland. She attended Ellsworth High School. Wanda was united in marriage on July 17, 1941 to Bernard John Meacham. Their marriage was blessed with four children and seventy-five years of love and devotion. Wanda graciously provided for her family as a homemaker, as well as assisted her husband as a bookkeeper in their construction business.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a sweet and strong will, and a carefree and vivacious personality. Wanda loved adventure, and delighted in traveling, riding motorcycle, and flying with her pilot husband. Taking great excitement in big adventures, she even went skydiving on her 80th Birthday! Wanda enjoyed collecting many things such as Barbies, wedding dolls, spoons, thimbles, jewelry and antiques. She spent many hours crocheting beautiful doilies, quilts and tablecloths, and tending to her many gardens whenever she had the chance. Wanda loved having her family together, delighted in maintaining a well- kept home, and providing delicious home cooked meals for her children and grandchildren.

Wanda will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Dianne Bennett of Colfax and LoAnna Halverson of Woodville; 9 grandchildren: Ryan, Troy, Tricia, Angie, Sherri, Michelle, Shannon, Carmen, and Nancy; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sharon Meacham; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; son, Michael; daughter, Sharon; sister, Shirley Kraemer; and brother, Royce “Bud” Osterland.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2020, followed by a time of Reflection at 3:00 PM, at the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant St., Ellsworth. Private interment will take place at Trimbelle Cemetery. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be: Craig Scholfield, Dustin Smith, Eric VanNess, Lucas Goulette, Christopher McIntyre, and Logan Rotta. Honorary pallbearers will be Aldin Smith, David Kraemer, and Dwight Kraemer.
