Marvin Johnson

Marvin L Johnson, age 71, died peacefully in his sleep at the Prescott Care Center, Sunday, July 5, 2020.

Marvin was born June 27, 1949 to Wallace and Frae (Gilles) Johnson.

He grew upon a dairy farm in Plum City WI. After leaving the farm Marvin had several jobs. First being a cook at the K-Mart in Maplewood MN. During that time, he met and married Delores Peters in 1979. He then worked as the janitor at St. Joseph school, Prescott. He also worked in the deli at Ptacek’s IGA. His last job was very special to him because he worked as a cook for his two nieces at Little Adventures Day care, in which several great nieces and nephews attended. He loved spending time with his great nieces and nephews who loved having him around.

He enjoyed being an active member of the UCC Church for 40 years. He participated in many Great River Road Theater plays and served as board member.  He and Delores went on many vacations and camping trips with Marvin’s siblings and their families.

He is survived by two sisters, Cindy and (Steve) Sabelko, and LuAnn and (Don) Sabelko; one brother, Cal and (Bonnie) Johnson of Menomonie WI; two sisters-in-law Jan (Randy deceased) Johnson, Ellsworth, Marlene Peters, Rochester; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews who loved him very much.

Preceded in death by his wife Delores; his beloved dog, Harley; his parents; and his brother Randy.

Marvin will be greatly missed by all.

Marvin’s life will be celebrated with a Gathering of Family and Friends from 11:00am-1:00pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the O‘Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 1339 Orrin Road in Prescott WI. Marvin will be laid to rest at the Union Cemetery in Plum City at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
