Shannon Christensen

Shannon Marie Christensen, age 51 of Woodbury, MN, formerly of Prescott, WI, passed away August 2, 2020 after a three-month battle with cancer.  Shannon was born February 12, 1969 in Red Wing, MN to Leo and Shirley (Brenner) Bishop.  She graduated from Prescott High School, with the Class of 1987.  After high school, Shannon received a paralegal degree from Rasmussen College.  She later went to cosmetology school, and worked as a cosmetologist for many years.  On February 8, 2014, on Smathers Beach in Key West, FL, Shannon was united in marriage to her best friend and love of her life, Bradly John Christensen.

Shannon’s heart was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.  She was a social butterfly, fun to be around, and lived each moment to its fullest.  She had a caring heart for others, loving her family well, and especially taking such exceptional care of her parents.  She delighted in her time spent creating and making fluid art.  Her pieces are truly expressions of the beauty she saw in life.  Shannon loved to travel with her husband Brad and her family, especially to warm weather destinations.  Their travels bring many special memories, with some of her favorite destinations being Hawaii, Grand Cayman Islands, and a Caribbean cruise.

Shannon will remain in the hearts of her loving husband, Brad and their beloved companion, Winnie; her mother, Shirley Bishop; sisters, Nancy (David) Ray, Debby (Scott) Thomas, and Stacey (Randy) Adams; brothers-in-law, Mark (Emily) Christensen and Eric Christensen; sister-in-law Suzanne (Kevin) Erickson; many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Bishop; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Judy and Bruce Christensen.

A Memorial Gathering for Family and Friends (with respect to social distancing and encouraging the use of masks) will take place 4:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, August 7, 2020 at the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 1339 Orrin Rd., Prescott, WI.
