Suzanne Marie Phernetton, age 75 of Beldenville, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on September 21, 2020. Suzanne was born May 25, 1945 in Red Wing, MN to Oliver and Joyce (Lampman) Simanski. She graduated from Red Wing High School, with the Class of 1963. On February 2, 1968, Sue was united in marriage to Thomas Russell Phernetton. Their lives were blessed with 3 children, Todd, Jamie and Michelle, and 52 years of marriage. Sue had various jobs throughout her life. She worked as a waitress for Berg Restaurant, was employed at Smeads, Helmer Printing, and was a Circuit Board Printer for Bergquist Company.
Sue enjoyed crocheting, tending to her flower gardens and working on crossword puzzles. She delighted in building doll houses, which are family treasures. Sue, Tom and family enjoyed 22 years of cabin life on Staples Lake, where they created many memories, and appreciated the peacefulness of being on the lake fishing. Sue was a loving wife, nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She truly enjoyed life, with a spunky and fun wit, and was happiest when surrounded by her family.
Sue will remain in the hearts of her husband, Tom; children, Todd (Julie) Simanski of Ankeny, IA, Jamie Randall of Ellsworth, and Michelle (Jay) Helmueller of Ellsworth; 6 beloved grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wanda (Wayne) Gerdes, Shelly (Denise) Simanski, Heidi (Dick) Tomforde, and Jenny (Herb) Jacobson. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Simanski; and her parents, Oliver and Joyce Simanksi.
A Memorial Service will take place 11:00 am Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant St., Ellsworth. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Beldenville Cemetery. In memory of Sue, memorials are preferred to the Pay It Forward Fund at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems.
