Lorraine Anne Minder

Lorraine Anna Minder, age 95 and one day short of 96, died January 1, 2021 at the Ellsworth Care Center. Lorraine was born on January 2, 1925 in River Falls, the daughter of Adolph and Mina (Belling) Kohl. She was raised in River Falls where she attended school. On March 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Wayne Minder. This union would be blessed with four children, Kenneth “Butch”, Karen, David and Glen. Although she was a devoted mom and homemaker, she and Wayne worked at the restaurant in Beldenville when the kids were small for a handful of years.

She enjoyed her time sewing, knitting and crocheting. If you were lucky enough, you got one of her hats or mittens! She also enjoyed being tested by a good crossword puzzle and had a hard time walking away from her jigsaw puzzles. Moreover, she was a devout Minnesota Twins fan and liked to catch them on the radio.

Lorraine will be fondly remembered by her children, Karen (Jerry) Greely of Shell Lake, WI, David Minder of Ellsworth and Glen (Barb) Minder of Wyoming, MN; daughter-in-heart, Joyce Minder Engnes; thirteen grandchildren; many great and great great-grandchildren; as well as her brother, Dean Kohl. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; son, Kenneth “Butch”; granddaughter, Kristen Minder and great-granddaughter, Jayda Minder; three brothers, Bud, Buster and Jerry; and sisters, Marcella and Betty.

Graveside services will take place 12:00 Noon Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the Beldenville Cemetery. A celebration of Lorraine’s life will follow at the Ridgetop.
