Nancy Hines

Nancy Diane Hines, age 72 of Elmwood died unexpectedly & joined her angel, Marlee May on October 6th, 2021. Nancy was born on November 18, 1948 in Olivet near El Paso; the daughter of Sylvester and Bernice (Hanson) Traynor. She was raised in Olivet prior to graduating from Elmwood High School in the class of 1966. Shortly thereafter, she would marry a young veteran of our armed forces; Patrick Allen Hines on June 22, 1968 at Clayfield Catholic Church. This union was further blessed with six children and was rewarded with fifty-three fun filled years. Nancy defined being a mom. Watching her children grow into parents was so satisfying. What was even more pleasing was watching her grandchildren grow up as they were the apple of her eye. Nancy loved cooking for an army. Her house was always filled with the aroma of fresh baked breads and goodies, like her prized caramel bars!   She always looked forward to watching the grandchildren while their parents were working as Grandma’s house was the place to be! But she never shied away from the farm work either. She could hold her own with the best of them throwing hay bales or driving tractor.  She had the best relationships with her sisters and created great memories with their monthly trips. Furthermore, she was so very proud of our veterans and Pat’s service to our country that she was an active member of the Elmwood American Legion Post Auxiliary Club. She headed up their Sunshine Club that greeted others on their special occasions. Nancy lived with scoliosis her entire life. Never once did she complain or let it slow her down. There was no way that was going to get the best of her.

Nancy leaves to mourn her loss, her husband Patrick; children Shelly Hanson, Billy Jo (Todd) Mark, Della (Jeff) Borst, Dolly (Brian) Mark, Pauline (Lonnie) Kopp, PJ (Jennifer) Hines, grandchildren Tyler Hanson, Cody Hanson, Jordyn (Nick) Czerwinski, Cole Mark, Natalie Mark, Bryce Mark, Chance (fiancée Kait) Borst, Hope (Hunter) Borst, Josie (James) Erlandson, Savanna (fiancé  Dustin) Mark, Dakkota (fiancé Frank) Mark, Payton Kopp, Brett Kopp, Allysha Hines, Cheyenne McMurray, Kaden McMurray; great grandchildren Markus, Reid, Boone, Axl;  siblings Sylvia Daley, Keith Traynor, Shirley Moore, Diane (Randy) Welsh,  Tim (Luann) Traynor, as well as many nieces, nephews, and all of Pat’s extended family.
