Grace Maxine Swenson, age 94, of River Falls passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 8, 2022 at Our House Senior Living in River Falls. Grace was born to William and Mary (Webster) McAleavey on July 5, 1927 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. She graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1945. She later met the love of her life, Ernest Swenson. They were married in June 24, 1952 and through this union, they were blessed with three children, Randy, Judy, and Bill.

Grace was a woman that needed very little to be happy. She grew up at the end of the great depression and lived through some of the tougher times of our nation’s history. She spent several summers at their lake cabin and enjoyed taking road trips with Ernie, with the occasional stop at the Casino. She was very proud of her Irish heritage as well. Grace will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Grace is survived by her loving children: Randy (Michelle) Swenson, Judy (Kevin) Shella, and Bill (Susie) Swenson; grandchildren: Cory (Becky) Shella, Nicky (Aaron) Simpson, Kaitlin (Alex) Williams, Jake (Alyssa) Swenson, Matthew Swenson, Alex Swenson, and Christopher Swenson; and great- grandchildren: Dylan Simpson, Chloe Simpson, Haddi Williams, McCoy Williams, Everly Shella, Amelia Shella, Claire Swenson and Sam Swenson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Swenson; parents William and Mary McAleavey; brothers LaVerne, Leo, &Francis McAleavey;  and sister Annabelle Hauth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at St. Bridget Catholic Church 211 E. Division St. River Falls, WI 54022. A visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass. Burial to follow at St. Bridget’s Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St Bridge Catholic Church of River Falls.
