Vickie Lynn Wilkens, age 60 of Hager City WI, died on Tuesday morning, September 17, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Vickie was born December 28, 1958 in Plum City WI to parents Eugene A. and Geraldine L. (Hines) Giebler. Vickie graduated from Ellsworth High School with the Class of 1976. Vickie was united in marriage to Allen Wilkens on October 19, 1991 at the Little Brown Church of Nashua, Iowa.
Vickie worked for Treasure Island Casino, and in later years at 3M in the harness division. Outside of work, Vickie enjoyed being spontaneous, kind, generous, and compassionate. She was very social, and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Vickie was the best mom in the world to her children, and an amazing grandma who cherished time with her grandkids. From cookies to friendship bread, she could bake like no other! Vickie’s favorite moments were often found camping, canoeing, and walking the bluff in Red Wing. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Vickie is survived by her husband, Allen; her children, Joe Pascenti, Samuel (Lindsay) Pascenti, and Leslie (Michael) Young; grandchildren, Braedan, Trinity, Carolina, Harper and Nancy and their mom Samantha, and Jace and Taylor; her sister, Dawn (Gary) Leonard; her grand-dog Sadie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Vickie was preceded in death by her son, Terry Wilkens; her parents; her sister, Debbie Stenger; and her grandparents. Special thanks to her niece, Heather, who served as a wonderful caregiver throughout this time of Vickie’s illness.
A Memorial Service for Vickie Wilkens will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 130 N Grant Street in Ellsworth. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm. Vickie will be brought to her final resting place, along with her son, Terry. Honoring her wishes, their urns will be buried together at the Trenton Cemetery following her service. Following burial at the cemetery, the family will host a gathering of family and friends at the Gas-Lite.
