Michael Eugene “Mike” Krieger, age 39 of Hammond WI, died suddenly and unexpectedly after a recent illness on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Mike was born December 3, 1970 in Vinton, IA to parents Gary and Carolyn (Northup) Krieger. Mike graduated from Baldwin-Woodville High School. On August 19, 1994, Mike would be united in marriage to Regan Catherine Johnson. Their union in marriage would be blessed with two daughters, Danae and Renata.
Mike was employed by MN OSHA for several years. Most recently he worked in the private sector as a Loss Control Consultant for Rural Mutual Insurance. Mike enjoyed the time he spent visiting with his commercial account customers, establishing friendships and using his talents and knowledge to help them with Health and Safety concerns in the workplace. Mike enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, fishing, hunting with both gun and bow, watching his girls play softball, spending time with family, and geo-caching. Mike even introduced his girls to his hobby of geo-caching; he enjoyed including his girls in all the things that he did. Mike will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, uncle, brother, and friend.
Mike is survived by his wife, Regan; daughters, Danae and Renata; his parents Gary (Carolyn) Krieger of Wilson; sisters Debbie (Daniel) Christian of Wilson, and Barb (Cliff) Zevenbergen of Muskego; sister-in-law, Nancy Johnson; nieces and nephews Melissa, Zachary and Matthew Johnson, Aaron Zevenbergen, and Kymberlee (David) Solnok; great-nephew, Joseph Solnok; father-in-law Gerald (Jackie) Johnson; as well as other relatives and numerous friends. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold (Alpha) Krieger, and Dale (Helen) Northup; and his mother-in-law, Helen Mary Johnson, and step mother-in-law, Susan C. Johnson.
Funeral Services for Mike Krieger will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Abundant Life Church, 896 Hwy 65, in River Falls, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church, and also from 4:00-8:00 PM on Sunday at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin WI.
