Wanda J. Heffron, age 80 of New Richmond, died on Monday morning, August 29, 2011 at the Hudson Hospital. Wanda was born April 23, 1931 in Hudson, WI to parents Raymond and Anna (Anderson) Detlefsen. Wanda was a graduate of Hudson High School.

On November 4, 1950 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Wanda was united in marriage to Robert James Heffron. Their union in marriage would be blessed with seven children, two generations of grandchildren, and nearly 60 years of love and family.

Wanda worked alongside her husband Bob as owners of Bob’s Tall Pines Resort in Hayward WI. Wanda enjoyed gardening, as well as fishing for sunfish, crappies, and walleyes. She especially enjoyed family and her grandchildren.

Wanda is survived by her children Kathy (Mike) Smith of River Falls, Bill Heffron of Hudson, David Heffron of Ellsworth, Carol (Don) Lindner of Star Prairie, Kenneth Heffron of Fargo, ND, Linda (Steve) Lozier of St. Croix Falls, Robert (Carmen) Heffron of Woodbury; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Olson of Hudson; Betty Livermore of Hudson, Ruth Poss of Hudson, and Richard Detlefsen of West Virginia; her best friend and caretaker, Vanessa. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; great-grandson Thomas Heffron, great-granddaughter Allie Galen, and daughter-in-law Betty Heffron.

A Memorial Service for Wanda Heffron will be held at 5:00PM on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, 309 Vine Street in Hudson, with Pastor Randy Fredrikson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
