Floyd Anderson

Floyd D. Anderson, age 87 of Hammond, passed away April 25, 2012 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond.  Floyd was born October 14, 1924 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; the son of Elmo and Louise (Curtis) Anderson.  After high school, Floyd farmed, proudly served as a merchant marine in the US Navy during WWII from 1942 until 1945 and worked on the ore ships of Lake Superior.  Floyd had a love for Lake Superior and ore ships, which stemmed from his dedication to the merchant marines.  He was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie, MI and New Richmond, WI VFW and American Legion.  Floyd also had a love for cats, enjoyed reading and watching westerns movies and seek-n-find puzzles.  He will be lovingly remembered by his friends from Bols Lanes, The Doll House and Jerry’s.  A private memorial will be held at a later date.  Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin (715) 684-3434.  www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com
