Jean M. Becker

Jean M. Becker, age 72, of Hudson, WI, passed away on February 28, 2014 at her residence in Hudson.

Jean Marie Becker was born on April 24, 1941 in Deer Lake Township, WI to Evert William and Lois Edna (Jones) De Boer. She grew up with her five siblings, attending Roberts Elementary and graduating from Roberts High School in 1959. Following her graduation, she attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis. Jean worked various office jobs for ten years. 

On August 25,1962, she was united in marriage to Rolland “Rollie” Dedrick Becker at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson. Their marriage would be blessed with two children, Ron and Renee. She worked part time in children’s early education, and in 1989 started working for Walmart in Hudson, a position which she retired from in 2005.

Jean enjoyed gardening and caring for her home and yard. She loved spending time with her family. She also loved bowling, and was the captain of her bowling leagues for many years. 

She is survived by her children, Ron Becker of Hudson, WI and Renee Becker of Eau Claire, WI; siblings: Jerry (Barbara) De Boer of Chippewa Falls, WI, Barbara (Peter) Frost of Anchorage, AK, Carol (Clair) Crane of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Cathy (Dan) Bourget of Surprise, AZ/Augusta, WI; sister-in-law, Marilynn (Rich) Anderson of Baldwin, WI; brother-in-law, Bob Becker of Florida; nephews: Rick Anderson of Frederic, WI, Andy (Natalie) Becker of Hudson, WI, Clark (Melody) Becker of Hudson, WI, Scott (Denice) Frost of Anchorage, AK, and Brandon (Alicia) Bourget of Italy; nieces, Wendy Brousseau of Eau Claire, WI and Andrea (Bernat) Bourget-Dorado-Guerrero of Barcelona, Spain. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Rollie; parents, Evert and Lois De Boer; father-in-law, Ralph Becker; mother-in-law, Dorothy Becker; brother, Glen De Boer; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Clark) Becker; and niece, Marybeth Anderson-Lundstrom.

A Memorial Service for Jean will be at 12 p.m. noon on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment at Willow River Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Adoray Home, Health, and Hospice.
