LaVetta Mae Vindal, age 85, of Hudson, WI, passed away on July 2, 2014.

She was born on February 14, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa to Randolph and Myrtle (Larsen) Bridges. She attended Floyd School in Sioux City until 1940, when her family moved to Hudson. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1947.

On July 16, 1949, she married Kenneth Vindal and they made Hudson their home, raising two children and operated Ken’s Mobil Station for 34 years.

LaVetta worked for 31 years in the Dietary Department at Hudson Hospital, and in her spare time, enjoyed golf, knitting, baking, reading, and watching NASCAR. In her later years, she volunteered at various bake sales, the Hudson library, and the Phipps.

She is survived by her two children, Carol (John) Wiskerchen of Spring Valley, WI and Gary (Debbie) Vindal of Hudson, WI; sister, Darlene (Vic) Hackett; brother, Jerry (Anna Marie) Bridges; three grandchildren: Shawn, Kari, and Lori; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Randolph in 1985; mother, Myrtle in 1992; and husband, Kenneth in 1990.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 3rd St., Hudson, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church.
