Jean Marilyn Russell, age 79 of Hudson, died peacefully November 25, 2014 at Red Cedar Canyon Assisted Living in Hudson.

Jean was born July 7, 1935 in Binghamton, NY to parents E. Stanley and Florence (Barton) Russell. She grew up and attended school in New York state. Jean earned a Bachelors Degree from Harper College in NY. She worked as an Income Maintenance Manager for Marathon County.

Jean was a spiritual and independent woman who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and her cats. She enjoyed traveling to other countries and within the United States for leisure and visiting family and friends. During her travels, Jean would journal about the unique and new experiences she participated in. She liked listening to classical music and attending symphonies at the Phipps or in the Twin Cities. Jean volunteered at the Hudson Hospital for many years. 

Jean will remain in the hearts of her children, Julie (John) Schienle of Hudson, Nichole (Matt) Calder of Farmingham, MA, and Stephen (Sari) Odden of San Rafael, CA; grandchildren, Ella and Annabel Schienle, Quinn, Hadley, Fletcher, and Ripley Calder, Claire and Samuel Odden Markowitz; brothers, Don (Sharon) Russell and Bill  Russell; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Russell; sister-in-law, Cathy Russell.

Private family services will be held.
