Roger Allen Hayes, age 77, of Hudson, WI, passed away on February 18, 2015 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.

Roger was born on October 31, 1937 in Sandstone, MN to William B. and Senia (Sohlo) Hayes. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army. On June 27, 1988 he was united in marriage to Marilyn B. Riihiluoma in Hudson, WI, together raising Marilyn’s three children: Travis, Tracy, and Trent. Roger worked for the United States Government as a Rural Mail Carrier in Centerville, MN and Hugo, MN.

Roger was a true outdoorsman, enjoying his time camping and being with friends and family at the VA Park in Forest Lake. He was well entertained watching football, and took great pride cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.

Roger will remain in the hearts of his wife, Marilyn; step children, Travis (Anna) Grabau, Tracy Waalen, and Trent Grabau; 5 step grandchildren: Ida, Lynn, Ashley, Benjamin and Emily Jo; 1 step great-granddaughter, Hailey Rose; siblings: Donna Hensrude, Patricia (Leonard) Schatava, Cindy Veenendahl and George (Bonnie) Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sylvia Goodroad and Jean Stephan; brothers, Michael Hayes and Wesley Hayes.

Graveside services will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
