Jane Fink

Jane Ann Fink (Hoyme), age 93 of New Richmond, died Wednesday June 10, 2020 at Amery Memory Care, in Amery, Wisconsin. Jane was born on August 23, 1926 in Butte, Montana.  She is the daughter of Harold and Blanche (Snowden) Hoyme. She graduated high school in Butte, Montana.  Jane is mother to four children, Ted, Linda, Don and Debbie.

After moving from Montana, Jane worked in retail at Donaldson’s in Minneapolis.  On February 26, 1965 she married Edward Fink in Decorah, Iowa.  Their marriage of fifty-four years was full of hard work and fun.  They owned and operated motels in Baldwin and Prairie du Chien, as well as a liquor store in La Crescent, Minnesota.  They also lived in Balsam Lake for a number of years where Jane worked at Paradise Lodge as a waitress.  Besides all the hard work, she loved to laugh and enjoy a good glass of wine. She was an amazing cook, the best pie maker, and loved to entertain her family. Most would say there wasn’t a jigsaw puzzle she couldn’t master. Jane and Ed loved to travel and stay in their RV in Hayward, and liked visiting area casinos and restaurants.  She also loved her little Snickles, her Weiner dog who she shared every meal with.

Jane is survived by her children, Ted (Pat) Hansen of Balsam Lake, Linda (David) Hawkins of Roberts, Don Hansen of New Richmond, and Debbie Monzel of Hudson; grandchildren, Mark (Rachel) Hansen, Kim (Tim) Burlage, Heidi (Doug) Green, Aaron (Kelly) Moe, Jennifer (Adam) Brown, Emily Monzel and Adam Monzel; great grandchildren, Kylie, Chad, Ella, Jordan, Jackson, Dylan and Addyson. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Fink; and her parents.

A private family gathering will be held to remember Jane.  Internment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner next to her husband, Ed. Memorials for the family may be mailed to: O’Connell Family Funeral home, care of Jane Fink Family, 1010 Newton Street, Baldwin, WI 54002, to be forwarded on your behalf.
