Bakke, DuWayne

DuWayne Allan Bakke, age 81 of Hudson passed away August 30th, 2020 at his home with his family by his side, after a battle with cancer. DuWayne was born on January 7, 1939 in Thief River Falls, MN; the son of Alfred and Mildred (Jacobson) Bakke. He was raised in Thief River Falls graduating from Lincoln High class of 1956. He later graduated from the University of Minnesota in accounting. DuWayne was united in marriage to Patricia Hackel in Fridley, Minnesota. This union would be blessed with son Brett. Over the years he worked with a number of accounting firms. Ultimately he retired as company president at Nor-Lake Inc. in Hudson.

In his early years DuWayne loved to fish for Musky. He was also an avid golfer, an antique collector and loved all things Minnesota sports, including the Vikings and Gophers. DuWayne and Pat were fortunate to travel the world together following their retirement.

DuWayne will forever hold a spot in the hearts of his wife Pat, son, Brett and his wife Hannah of Hudson, his two grandchildren: Mikayla and Connor; Brother Ronald and Karen Bakke of Coon Rapids, in laws; Steve and Kay Hackel of Plymouth, Beth and Jeff Brekke of Champlain, David Hackel of Golden Valley, father in law, Larry Hackel of Golden Valley, and many nieces and nephews and other family. He is preceded in death by his parents and mother in law Martha Hackel.

Private family services are being held. In-lieu of flowers memorials can be made to donor’s choice. Cremation and memorial services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Homes of Hudson.
