Todd has been a life-long member of the Boy Scouts of America. After achieving the rank of Eagle, he continued to participate in the BSA as an adult leader and turned his focus towards supporting youth as a Scoutmaster, Advisor, Unit Commissioner, Campmaster, and Committee member. Besides the Eagle Scout Award, Todd has earned a number of recognitions including multiple Awards of Excellence, Scouter’s Keys, and Arrowhead Honors, but most notably is his Silver Beaver Award which is given to volunteers for their impactful contributions to Scouting. He is well known for his work with Eagle River District in running the monthly Roundtable meeting and being an advisor for the district level and council level Venturing Officer’s Association.

Todd was a standout athlete at New Richmond High School. He was captain of both the Cross Country Team and Track And Field Team. His specialties were the high hurdles and long-distance running. He was named the Kiwanis Outstanding Athlete when he graduated in 1978. In addition to athletics, Todd was active in the high school orchestra and jazz band all four years. Todd played upright bass and electric base. In his senior year Todd played the tuba for the marching band and marched in President Jimmy Carter’s inaugural parade in Washington D.C. In 1976 Todd was awarded the NSOA Orchestra Award which is the highest recognition a student can earn for their excellence and contributions to the ensemble.

Upon graduating high school, he spent four years at the University Of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he majored in Computer Science and more importantly met his wife, Christine while both working at UW-Eau Claire Facilities Management. They got married in 1986 and had their daughter, Marina, in May of 1997. After leaving UW–Eau Claire in 1996 Todd had a career in Computer System Management at various companies including Unisys Corporation.

Todd was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Twins, but his love of these sports teams paled in comparison to his devotion of the film and television properties of Star Trek. Starting with the reruns of the original series in the early 1970’s and continued to the various shows that exist today. His devotion to the franchise has been firmly instilled in his wife and daughter who too eagerly await the new Star Trek installments. One of Todd’s other great loves, trains, took him and his wife across the country and fueled his interested in anything and everything trains.
