James Richard “Jimmy” Loeffler Jr., age 78 of Hudson WI, peacefully passed away early on February 7, 2022 at Deerfield Memory Care in New Richmond WI. Jim was born in Richville, Washington on September 26, 1943 to James R Loeffler Sr and Jean Loeffler. Jim grew up in St. Louis Park, MN, attended Park High School, and graduated in Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University in 1966. It was there that he went on a blind date and met his wife, Pam, and were married 54 loving and blessed years.
They moved to New York, and Jim was hired by IBM and worked on NASA’s Saturn 5, the most powerful rocket ever built. Shortly afterwards, Jim & Pam moved back to MN to be closer to family. Jim also worked for Control Data, Toro, STI, and was with Medtronic for 17 years. After he retired, he continued to consult in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Systems as an FDA Specialist.
Proceeding in his death are James R Loeffler Sr. (father), Jean Loeffler (mother), Janet Johnson (aunt). He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Pamela Loeffler, son Jeff (Val) Loeffler, daughter Teri Holmes, grandchildren Ashlee and Blake; sister, Sue (Tom) Schwartz, brother, Gary Loeffler; Pam’s brother and sister-in-law, Harlan & Barb Seagren, his nieces, nephew, and extended family.
Jim felt truly blessed every day by his 2 children – Jeff and Teri. Jeff and his wife, Val live in Savage, MN. Jeff graduated from Iowa State, and works for CH Robinson. Teri lives in Hudson, WI, is an Art Teacher (30 yrs) at Harding High School and graduated from Mankato State. At the top of his ‘favorite things’ list were his 2 grandkids. Ashlee, 19, has started her college journey in Special Education. Blake, 16, is a Junior in high school in Hudson, loves track, gaming, and his driver’s license.
Besides enjoying time with Pam, family, and friends, Jim’s other favorite and most loved things were Higgins (his Old English Sheepdog), his red Corvettes, scootering around town on his little red scooter, loving life on a small lake in Hudson, pontooning, the family cabin in Darwin, MN, and fixing all things for us and friends. (If you name it, Jimmy could fix it.) He also loved photography, geeky computer things, music, movies especially sci-fi, travel, reading, and Indy racing. He really enjoyed being a WCCO Weather Watcher for many years, and was an avid Vikings fan.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00–5:00 p.m., with a time to share memories at 5:00 p.m., on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI.
