Wesley “Wes” R. Vondelinde, age 35, of Hammond, WI, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2022.
Wes was born on May 26, 1986 in Owatonna, MN to Joe and Cindy Vondelinde. He grew up in Chisago City and graduated from Chisago Lake Senior High School, the class of 2004.
Wes was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, and motocross. He loved getting his hands dirty in his vegetable garden, cooking what he grew, and living up to the name “Salsa King.” He was a skilled carpenter and craftsman, and could make just about anything. All of the garden beds in his yard, the chicken coop, and many furniture pieces in his home he built himself. No matter how hard some of his family tried, he was a dedicated MN Vikings fan through and through, and enjoyed being an amateur NFL analyst for their games. He also was a skilled pool player.
Wes had an amazing sense of humor, and was always smiling and making others smile with his jokes and wit. It goes without saying that Wes deeply loved his family. His boys were his pride and joy, and he loved more than anything spending time with them, Caitlin, and the rest of his family and friends. He was an incredible father and an amazing person who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Jayden and Trey; fiancée and mother to his boys, Caitlin Christensen; parents, Cindy & Joe Vondelinde; siblings, Candice (Jesse Parks) Vondelinde and Jeremiah (Bethany) Johnson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, in-laws, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson with a visitation from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, WI.
