Orin was born on November 25, 1929 in Spring Valley, WI, the son of Oscar and Emma Bjornstad. Orin grew up on the farm and attended high school in Spring Valley.

He fought in the Korean War and received a purple heart.

He was united in marriage on November 21, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in El Paso, WI to Deanna Bjornson. Their marriage was blessed with three boys: Daryl, Denny, and John.

Orin started business in 1960 with his brother, Don (Bjornstad Builders.) Orin continued the family business until 1990, when he passed on the family heritage to his sons.

Orin’s true enjoyment was spending time at the family cabin with family and friends. He also enjoyed wood carving.

Orin will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 54 years, Deanna; children: Denny (Tracy) and John (Missy); grandchildren: Chad (Kerri), Bob (Ashley) Adam, Greg, Brandon, Corey, and Taylor; great-grandchildren: Madison, Brayden, Ava, and Lauren Bjornstad, and Mila Rogers; brother, Don Bjornstad; sister, Iolene Grant; and many nieces and nephews.

Orin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daryl Bjornstad; 2 sisters; 3 brothers-in-law; 1 sister-in-law; 2 nephews; and 1 niece.

A visitation took place from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Bethel Lutheran Church on Thursday, May 15. Interment was at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
