Catherine ‘Caddy’ Dorsey

Catherine ‘Aunt Caddy’ Dorsey, age 93 of Cylon, died Friday May 19th, 2017 at the Baldwin Care Center. Caddy was born on October 22, 1923 in Forest, Wisconsin; the daughter of Erwin and Alice (Kuhn) Dorsey. She was raised in Cylon where she attended school prior to graduating from New Richmond High School in the class of 41’. Being raised on the farm helping her dad and siblings, she was raised with a strong work ethic, which emulated throughout her entire life. She wasn’t shy when it came to farm work as she enjoyed driving tractor, milking, or picking rock. Caddy worked over 40 years for 3M in the Twin Cities as a factory worker.

Caddy had a deep faith and was proud of her Irish Catholic heritage. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, reading, and playing her Penny Press word search games.

Caddy will remain in the hearts of her brother John (Rosemary) Dorsey, sister-in-law Bev Dorsey, and many special nieces and nephews who meant the world to her! Her parents; sisters Virginia, Julia, Ann Marie, Mary; and brother Thomas Dorsey precede her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine will be 11AM Tuesday, May 23rd at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Erin Prairie. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Cylon. Active casket bearers will be Jim Dorsey, Gary Dorsey, Patrick Wilhelm, Tim Wilhelm, Michael Wilhelm, Dennis Wilhelm, Daniel Wilhelm, and Thomas Dorsey with honorary casket bearers being Carmen Heffron, Lisa Weiske, Ann Ley, Mary Cole, and Angie Dorsey. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 until 7pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin and one hour prior to the mass at church Tuesday morning. Memorials are preferred for masses in memory of loved ones.
